STYLISH SURROUNDS
The first is the fire surround. Do you fit a new or reclaimed fireplace or have one made bespoke to your specifications? Lapicida is highly experienced in creating fire surrounds of a multitude of styles in various natural stones to the precise specifications of the client.
A fine example is the French limestone fire surround which is a highly traditional design that spans the entire width of the chimney breast. Our collections of surrounds are custom-made by Lapicida craftsmen.

INSPIRED WALLS
Another option is to get creative with the use of your walls. There are many sleek modern fires which do not require a traditional surround. These can be set into a flat wall or even on a shelf with an overhead flue built into the wall above.
Texture is a great way to add interest, too. Lapicida Biblical limestone has a fabulous chiselled surface which really comes to life with carefully situated lighting. The built-in in fire is set into an entire wall of Biblical Ivory limestone, contemporary with a wonderfully rustic texture.

FABULOUS FLOORS
The final consideration is the floor. Here, you need to consider two things; its aesthetic and practicality.
Real fires can spit and create mess with soot and embers. Whilst wood is great for putting on a fire, it’s not always the most practical flooring choice.
New-generation porcelain manufacturing technology and design perfectly recreate the beauty of real wood in incredible detail, including the grain, knots and texture. However, they are much more durable and practical to live with day to day. Our Boisée White Ash porcelain planks create a lovely light Scandi look that will endure the test of time.
CLASSIC FRENCH FEEL
