Lapicida: At The Heart of the Thriving New Chelsea Design Quarter

Nowhere was this creativity more prevalent than the Kings Road area of Chelsea. Today, the design scene is stronger and more passionate than ever, not just on Kings Road, but Lots Road and Imperial Wharf too.

It’s a uniquely eclectic hub for interior designers and design-conscious people in the know where exciting new stores rub shoulders with other established names that have served the design community for over 60 years.

The Chelsea Design Quarter has one of the greatest concentrations and most diverse selections of established interiors specialists in the London area. It’s also the home to our Lapicida London showroom which showcases a display of natural stone tiles, slabs and objects that’s unmatched anywhere.

One of the main reasons we chose the Kings Road, apart from its history for creativity and individuality, was to be part of this bustling and historically rich design community. We love the fact that everything exists within a short casual stroll. There are plenty of places for our clients to meet, relax, discuss design and enjoy a coffee or a spot of lunch with friends.

The Chelsea Design Quarter encourages individuality too. Rather than wall to wall homogenised high street names, there is a strong and vibrant community of exciting independent designers and retailers that all help to perpetuate the infectious, creative village atmosphere.

The 5,000 square foot Lapicida London showroom occupies a commanding position at the heart of the quarter. Inside is one of the most dramatic displays of natural stone floor tiles, natural stone wall tiles, stone slab, reclaimed stone and stone objects that the London design community has ever seen. There’s everything from the finest marble and limestone to granite, 3D bespoke objects, intricate inlays, semi-precious stone and stone basins, stone baths and stone shower trays. One visit and you’ll see that literally anything is possible with stone in the hands of Lapicida.
