Travertine
Travertine is a natural chemical precipitate of carbonate materials sometimes referred to as travertine limestone or travertine marble.
Pure, travertine is white, but it is often brown in tone and be beautifully coloured and banded. Characteristic pitted holes and troughs in its surface occur naturally giving a rustic, natural, period look. Some travertines are filled to even out these indentations, then polished to a smooth, shiny finish. Interestingly, the Colosseum in Rome is constructed largely of travertine.
Lapicida travertine is an extremely versatile stone, but it is not always suitable for high traffic areas such as kitchens and commercial flooring.
Suggested uses: internal • medium to low traffic areas • Bathrooms walls and floors • Kitchen • kitchen utility • Living Areas • swimming pool • conservatories / orangeries.
