This week
Lapicida have partnered up with three top interior design bloggers to find out
where the inspired go for inspiration, so you can sit back and give your
imagination a creative refresh.
Tina Ramchandani is the
author of Life in Sketch. She’s a
full-time interior designer based in New York, specialising in high-end
residential design. These are Tina’s three favourite sources of inspiration:
1stDibs.com
‘If you aren't a member of 1st Dibs I highly recommend becoming one, and
fast! It's a great website that many designers use to find products for
clients. It carries everything from furniture to artwork, all of the vendors on
the site are high-end and quality is guaranteed. In addition to the fabulous
shopping resources, you can find Introspective Magazine, which
highlights different designers and destinations each week. That alone is a
great source of inspiration for me.’
Architectural
Digest
‘I love sitting down with the newest magazines and looking at their featured
homes. Magazines like Architectural Digest tend to feature homes with the most
current trends. It's easy to spot what's in now and what's to come when you
compare a few magazines at once.’
Pinterest
‘Everyone’s talking about this one, but it's a site I use daily. It's
really quite addictive. Once you install the Pin It bookmarklet you can start
pinning your favorite items. You can follow your favorite designers and see
what they are pinning, and what's on their mind now. It's a fabulous resource.’
Micle Mihai runs Freshome, an interior design
and architecture blog that has been sharing great ideas and beautiful images
since it was founded in 2007. Here are Micle’s top three design and
architecture sites:
Design Milk
‘This is an online blog magazine run by Jaime Derringer. On Design Milk
you can find lots of interesting ideas for your home, especially great pieces
of furniture and interesting home accessories.’
Dezeen
‘If you love architecture then you'll love the stuff that the guys from
Dezeen present, it's a must! They also feature a great range of quirky smaller
accessories, even down to the level of crockery and mugs.’
Trendir
‘Trendir is a great source for everybody who is looking for home decor ideas and
cool products. It’s also a great blog for discovering new trends.’
Sarah Sarna is a boutique interior
designer. Her website, www.sarahsarna.com,
brings a taste of the exotic to residential interiors, drawing inspiration from
French, Caribbean and Indian motifs. Where does she turn for her ideas?
Pinterest
‘Pinterest, of course! I can't live without the search function: instant
inspiration at my fingertips that I can categorize, file, and link to on my
blog.’
Interior Connector
‘This is my favorite source for custom-made furnishings. Each and every
item on the site has so much style, all masterfully curated by industry
insider, Beth Neuhaus.’
1stDibs Photo Archive
‘We all know and love 1stDibs, but their photo archive is something of a
hidden gem. Beautiful interiors shot by the world's best photographers, all
searchable by room and style.’
We hope that
